Phygital Infrastructure for the Built Environment

The nervous
system of your

habitat.

Passive chips embedded in architectural surfaces. A phone wakes the chip. The building learns to remember. One tap. One authenticated moment. The material now thinks. No app. No dedicated hardware. Works on any phone.

What it is

Every tap is a photograph
taken in darkness.

Passive chips embedded in architectural surfaces, materials, and objects become phygital sensing nodes. A phone wakes the chip — the building speaks through the gesture. The tap is simultaneously the physical operational act and its authenticated digital record.

No dedicated hardware. No app. The tap is the atom of the entire architecture — the indivisible moment when a phone meets a chip and the material begins to remember. Intelligence emerges, slowly, from the aggregate.

01
The Tap
A single authenticated gesture. Phone to surface. The physical action and its digital record are one.
02
The Baseline
The system learns what normal looks like for each node. Rhythm. Deviation. Anomaly. Automatically.
03
The Octave
Intelligence emerges at harmonic thresholds. Node biography. Building self-knowledge. Typology intelligence.
The intelligence loop
01 node 02 tap 03 form 04 AI 05 dash intelligence loop
01
Chip or QR
Passive node on any surface. No power. No battery. No maintenance. Print and place in under a minute.
02
Phone tap
Any NFC phone or camera. No app install. The form appears instantly — in the operator's language.
03
Form submit
Context-aware SOP checklist or compliance record. Your fields. Authenticated. Timestamped.
04
AI baseline
Nightly computation learns each node's rhythm. Anomaly scores generated. Deviations flagged automatically.
05
Dashboard → node
Real-time health grid. LINE Notify alerts. The intelligence returns to the node — the loop closes.
The hardware

Three instruments.
One gesture of light.

Every deployment rests on one of three chip substrates, chosen for the material, the context, and the weight of the memory being kept. All three answer the same gesture — a phone meeting a chip in the dark.

01
NERV·ROUTE
The torch. A quiet chip embedded in any surface. Passive, universal, patient. Lights a path to the memory already stored.
02
NERV·ACTIVE
The flashbulb. Passively powered, actively confirming. A small light, a soft tone, a moment of certainty. For gestures that must be remembered exactly.
03
NERV·SENSE
The magnifier. A chip that reads the room while it waits. Temperature, motion, material fatigue. The surface becomes a sensor that has been listening all along.
The octave

Intelligence emerges
at harmonic thresholds.

The plexus does not scale linearly. It climbs in octaves — each threshold a new class of self-knowledge becoming possible. Contact, condition, rhythm, anomaly, pattern, biography, typology. Each level requires the previous to be stable before the next can emerge.

01 Contact 02 Condition 03 Rhythm 04 Anomaly 05 Pattern 06 Biography 07 Typology INTELLIGENCE → the Grove

One hand and one chip is the first octave. Multiple deployments speaking across a city is the fifth. A civilisation reading its own spatial biography is the seventh. Beyond that — the Grove — the planetary plexus of human spatial cognition.

The interface

A web app that appears
at the moment of contact.

The moment a phone meets a chip, a context-aware web app opens in the browser. No install. No account. No download. The interface is summoned by the gesture itself — and disappears when the work is done.

01
Context-aware forms
The form that opens is the form this node needs. A kitchen hood asks kitchen questions. A fire extinguisher asks compliance questions. The node decides.
02
Offline-first
The app works without signal. Taps are recorded locally, then sync when the network returns. Nothing is lost in the basement or the stairwell.
03
Operator sovereignty
Every operator sees their own tap history. No one else does. The Concordat ensures the data belongs to the hand that made it.

The phone is the instrument. The chip is the string. The web app is the note that sounds when they meet — and the silence that follows when they part. Nothing to install. Nothing to remember. Nothing to maintain.

The SpaceNerv Charta
A constitutional document for phygital infrastructure.

Phygital infrastructure is powerful enough to reveal the operational interior of civilisation. Anything this powerful cannot be governed by good intentions — they erode under pressure, and the pressure always arrives.

The Charta is SpaceNerv's founding document. Eight articles. Unamendable prohibitions. It binds the founder before it binds anyone else — no surveillance, no sale of individual data, no tokenisation, no weaponisation, no tracking between taps. The architecture defends itself when humans cannot.

Released under Creative Commons CC0, so any project building phygital infrastructure may adopt or adapt these protections freely.

"The darkness was always full. Every room, every corridor, every surface has been accumulating operational intelligence since the first human being entered it. We simply lacked the instrument to listen."

Contact
Begin a conversation.

SpaceNerv is in calibration phase until 8 June 2026. The pace is slow, the conversations are written, and the first questions matter more than the first answers.

We are looking for a small group of early collaborators: architects, heritage custodians, researchers, constitutional thinkers, and operators of spaces that deserve to remember themselves. No sales calls. No procurement forms. No decks.

If what you have read here makes you want to ask one specific question — about a building you care about, a material you work with, a doubt that won't leave you alone — write in plain prose. One paragraph is enough to begin.

"The first questions matter more than the first answers. The pace is slow, the conversations are written, and every exchange is a small act of trust between a person and a project that is learning to listen."
